HANDING OVER 600 CERTIFICATES OF TITLES TO KAYUNGA RESIDENTS

The Residents of Kayunga District were overwhelmed with joy when over 600 residents from Kitimbwa and Kayonza  sub counties received Certificate of Tittles from His Excellence The President Of Uganda at Nkokonjeru, Kitimbwa subcounty. The Hon Minister Of State For Lands Doctor Sam  Mayanja accompanied by The area Member of Parliament Hon Tebandeke Charles witnessed the Exercise. The Minister referred to the event as historical since the land is cradle and a Tittle is the only real property someone can own. He advised the beneficiaries to guard their Tittles jealously from land grabbers and money lenders. He also warned the Area Land Committees for offering pubic land to the Buganda land board and promised to punish whoever will be found guilty.

The RDC Hajji Dumba Moses applauded the President and the NRM Government for this achievement which came as a result of the good leadership. He urged the beneficiaries to set up permanent Business on their land so as to develop their sub counties, Districts and  Country. The Deputy CAO Mr Kizza Godfrey urged the beneficiaries to use their Titled land for production so as to move from a low to a medium income country. The District Chairperson thanked the President for his efforts and requested the Hon Minister to throw more light on land ownership since Kayunga covers 80% public land but the Buganda land Board has failed to accept.

The Chief Guest Hajjat Namyalo Hadija congratulated the beneficiaries upon their achievement and advised them to jealously guard their titles from Land grabbers and money lenders. She talked about the increased corruption and forgery in the Ministry of lands and finally requested the RDC to organise and invite her for a self-empowerment program which is funded by the president individually not as Government.
