BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE COUNCIL MEETING.

Kayunga District held a council meeting chaired by the District speaker Hon Bulinson Saleh.

The chairperson wasn't impressed by the absenteeism of the councillors since it affects their duties and also the people they represent.

 

The Board of Governors for Kangulumira public SS and Bbaale SS were not approved since the committee members were absent.

The state of the District address 2022/2023, minutes and reports were approved.

Hon Namata thanked the CAO, Chairperson LCV and the Human resource department for management of the payroll system.

Hon Ntambi Requested the Environment and Natural Resource Officers to sensitise community about the leasehold tittles duration and renewals.

He discouraged Headteachers giving gifts to District heads during commissioning in schools  since it is a burden to the limited school funds  and further talked about water challenges under the Central umbrella.

Hon  Ntege inquired when disaster preparedness work plan will be ready and implemented, when PDM beneficiaries begin repayments and causes of poor performance in UPE schools.

Hon Namulondo requested for transparency in the District Service Commission through the LCV chairperson since community is referring to them as job dealers thus tarnishing their period of service and spoiling their political support in their constituencies.

Hon Mugaba submitted on the issue of promotions to higher posts  not being fair and further highlighted that some residents of kayonza and kitimbwa who never received their land tittles yet their names appeared on the distribution lists .

The Chair person LCV thanked Councillors for their cooperation which has yielded achievements as per the state of District Address.

He requested those who never received their land tittles to resubmit their documents since the Office of the president is still working upon it.

He promised support to Emyooga, UWEP, YLP and PDM Committee in causing arrests to defaulters.

He said promotions are not done by his office but rather heads of department basing on the demands and capabilities.

He promised to write to Ministry of water such that kayunga District is taken over by National water since central umbrella has failed in service delivery.

He also said that only learners that have studied will be allowed to sit UNEB to minimize failures in the Education system.

He finally agreed to the councillor’s request of accepting boda-boda riders ferry clients up to the District premises not outside the gate.
