COUNCIL SITTING ON 27 OCTOBER 2023

Kayunga District held a council meeting chaired by the speaker Hon. Bulinson Saleh. In attendance was CAO and deputy, DISO, RDC and his deputy, technical staff among others.

The chairperson was impressed by the attendance, smartness and time of arrival of the councilors.

 Council approved the board of governors for Kangulumila public SS and Bbaale SS.

 Hon. Namukose Fatuma was elected as the Deputy Speaker replacing Babirye Nakimera who moved to other assignments.

Councilors Hafuswa requested fellow councilors to intervene in the issue of nurses requesting for money from patients.

Council resolved that the coaster that had been offered to Kangulumila public school be recalled back and pass through the board of survey then be disposed off.

The CAO advised Councilors to plan for vehicles and motorcycles for the education and health department in the next financial years through the DHO and DEO formally writing to the Ministry of Health and Education .

He called for Councilors cooperation in the supervision of civil servants’ absenteeism from work most especially teachers, doctors and staff at sub counties.

RDC emphasized on the presidential directive to protect wetlands and urged members to be security conscious since theft is on an increase.

RDC further warned some councilors for sabotaging the PDM program by advising beneficiaries not to repay that it’s a government donation.

Chairperson LCV highlighted the issue of debts that the district is facing and requested council to accept adjustments that are being proposed such that debts are set off.

He requested for team work and respect for one another since they all have a common goal of serving the community.
